Expanded metal is produced by stretching the sheet metal through high tonnage machines. Perforated sheets are produced by applying drilling process on the sheet metal with a press. In expanded metal product, since the sheet entering the process is smaller than the outgoing sheet, it is lighter and more economical than perforated sheet, but in some types its strength may be lower than perforated sheet. Naturally, expanded metal is more economical than perforated sheet while covering larger areas with structural integrity.
We can manufacture from steel and aluminum materials. Material selection can be determined according to the application area, loading conditions and corrosion risk.
When expanded metal will be used as an intermediate product, especially when processes such as welding and bending will be applied, it is recommended to be delivered uncoated. Apart from this, according to your request, surface treatments such as hot-dip galvanizing, electrostatic powder coating (RAL color options) can be applied. Galvanizing is recommended for outdoor applications.
